Meet The Team

Hi I'm Barbs, I am a qualified and accredited Child and Family Specialist Counsellor based in Bedfordshire.

I have over 28 years experience of counselling children, young people and supporting families. I have worked in a variety of different settings including schools, colleges and for the NSPCC all delivering therapeutic work.

I am a qualified practitioner in delivering Video Interactive Guidance (VIG) and Dyadic Developmental psychiatry (DDP) which are both attachment based therapies, used to strengthen and improve relationships between children and their primary carers.

I am  experienced in working with developmental trauma and I specialise in working with children whom are not cared for by their birth parents. I am experienced in supporting foster carers and completing post-adoption work with families.

I have a qualification in Animal assisted therapy and frequently use our therapy animals during sessions.

I am experienced with children and young people aged from 4 years to  adulthood. I have experience in supporting parents on an individual basis as well as providing Family therapy.

I am an accredited member of both the BACP, HCPC, DDP and VIG UK governing organisations, and registered with private health organisations. Certifications, references and qualifications can be seen on request.

Hi, I would like to introduce myself. I’m Sue, I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist, counsellor & supervisor.

I work with adults, families, children and young people, couples and groups. My integrative approach means that we can work together to explore the best outcomes for you.

Having worked in education settings for many years, I have significant experience of therapeutic interventions with children who present with trauma, additional needs and challenging behaviour.

Equally, I have worked with families, those in complex relationships or encountering relational trauma.

I work with sensitivity, safety and compassion and with the person centred values of respect, non-judgement and empathy. I also like to reference nature, use play, drawing and movement to support the therapeutic experience.

My name is Louise, I am a registered BACP and accredited NCPS Counselling Therapist.

I am very passionate about my work and am committed to doing my absolute best to support my clients.

I am experienced in working with children, adolescents and adults experiencing bereavement, grief, loss, relational issues and trauma.

I am experienced in working with extreme emotions and those that find it difficult to communicate feelings and emotions. My core belief is that connection is the key to a successful counselling journey and I believe we are all unique. In recognising this, I tailor the way I work to find the most effective ways to suit your individuality using a variety of approaches and activities/tools which may include: drawing, writing, art, play and relaxation techniques. Overall, I offer Person-Centred Counselling with humanistic values which concentrates on your needs throughout offering a warm, relaxed, welcoming, non-judgemental and comfortable environment to address your needs with upmost empathy.

I am Collette and I am an BACP accredited counsellor. I have experience working with both adults and young people.  I currently work within a school, and also for a children’s charity and privately.  I pride myself on building a good relationship with younger clients who find it hard to express their feelings by working creatively with them.

It is my belief that we can all benefit from understanding ourselves better; Our brains store everything whether we remember it or not, and in turn influence our thoughts, feelings and fears. My hope is that by spending time getting to know you, I can help you make sense of what has happened or is happening to you, how you feel about it and find a way to move forward with solutions that best fit your life.

Hi I'm Lucy,  I am a qualified Fitness and well-being coach, focusing on mental health and exercise. I have over 25 years experience of working as a personal trainer. I have had the pleasure and experience of working with both adults and young people in various settings. I am Trauma trained and informed and fully DBS checked.

We all know how good physical exercise is for the body but physical activity can actually help your nervous system to restore balance by burning off Cortisol and other stress hormones. Endorphins are also released during physical activity, improving mood and general well-being.

I am able to provide individual, personalised training sessions at a neutral venue, where I will devise an individual training plan to support children and young people in increasing their fitness levels, whilst improving their mood and calming any challenging behaviours. I look forward to working with you!
